Mr. Ekramul Bari .... for the petitioner Mr. Supriyo Chattopadhyay Mr. Suman Dey ..... for the State Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee Mr. Satyaki Banerjee .... for the Calcutta University The prayer in the writ petition is for a direction on the Director of Public Instruction to consider a representation forwarded by the College on behalf of the petitioner to the DPI on 16.03.2017. The petitioner's father, being a Group-D staff of the University, died on 27.02.2017 and the application for compassionate appointment was made thereafter on 12.07.2017.

Since the DPI has not given any reply in the intervening five years, the DPI, being respondent No. 2, is directed to consider the representation by way of a reasoned order after hearing all concerned parties including the petitioner within three weeks from today. A copy of the reasoned order shall be made available to the petitioner within a week from the date on which such order is passed.

WPA 7738 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.
