The court is approached under Section 482 Cr.P.C. soliciting a direction to ensure expeditious disposal of a NDPS case No.94 of 2019 now pending before the learned Judge, Special Court, NDPS Act, Nadia, Krishnagar.

Admittedly, there are 11 witnesses cited in the charge-sheet and out of which, 5(five) witnesses have already been examined. Mr. Mukherjee, learned Advocate representing the petitioners submits that a direction may be given so that the date scheduled by the learned court below may be effectively utilised without granting any unnecessary adjournment, unless it is extremely unavoidable.

The copy of the revisional application has not been served upon the State, which may immediately be made over to Mr. Sur now present in court, who ordinarily defends the State in the capacity of Additional Public Prosecutor.

Mr. Sur, learned A.P.P. draws attention of the court to the order dated 24th March, 2021 to contend that the learned court below is sincere enough to schedule the case giving three dates for the examination of the rest of the witnesses, and thus tries to

impress upon the court that no such direction is necessary for the purpose.

Having considered the submission of both sides, the court is of the view that the instant revisional application may be disposed of giving direction mentioned hereunder.

Learned court below is directed to make effective utilization of the date so far scheduled without granting unnecessary adjournment, unless it is extremely unavoidable so that the logical conclusion may be reached within a reasonable period of time.

With this direction and observation, the revisional application stands disposed of.
