Mr. Ranjan Saha, learned advocate appears on behalf of the State respondent, but the private respondents are not represented in spite of service.

The petitioner is alleging that the embankment of Rupnarayan River belonging to the Irrigation and Waterways Department, Government of West Bengal, is being used by the local people as pathway, but the private respondents have put construction on the said Government land thereby have obstructed the petitioner from using the said path. The petitioner is complaining that though he has given a representation to the Sub-Divisional Officer, Ghatal Sub Division, District - Paschim Medinipur, the respondent no. 3 herein for removal of such encroachment but the same has failed to draw attention of the said respondent. The said representation dated March 11, 2025, forms part of the writ petition being Annexure - 'P3', The respondent no. 3 is directed to consider and dispose of the said representation in accordance with law after giving all concerned, opportunity of hearing as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

W.P.A. 8209 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
