Report reflects that the petitioner for a period of time is absconding. Subsequently, he was arrested and till date, he is in custody. Charge has already been framed in connection with New Barrackpore Police Station Case No.95 of 2022. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that although charge has been framed, but the evidence of the case has not commenced. The list which has been enclosed, reflects that there are 21 witness, the prosecution has relied upon. Having considered the time frame which may be required to conclude such long list of witnesses, I direct the learned trial court to fix the schedule consisting of three days and fix the schedule once in a month, so that the trial is concluded within a reasonable period of time. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, in-charge of Titagarh Police Station would engage a Nodal Officer of his choice, who would take steps for ensuring the availability of the witnesses, pursuant to summons being issued by the learned Special Court.

The learned Public Prosecutor shall produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the date fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. It is further directed that the trial of the case would continue in spite the resolution of the local bar and the learned Special court is further directed to ensure that if any witness is present on any date, the said witness should not return without being examined in connection with the aforesaid case and conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observation, the revisional application being CRR 1306 of 2024 is disposed of.
