Memo of evidence filed by the State is taken on record.

Learned counsels appearing on behalf of the accused and the de facto complainant/victim submit that the disputes that had led to the initiation of the impugned proceeding have been finally settled the compromise between the parties. The de facto complainant does not want to proceed with the matter and prays for quashing of the proceeding on the ground of compromise. She wants to stay separately. The husband and the wife have already filed an application for mutual divorce before the Civil Court. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the case diary and refers to the subsequent statement of the de facto complainant recorded by the police where she has expressed her willingness to withdraw the proceeding and submits that State would not come in the way, if a settlement is arrived at between the private parties.

Perused the case diary.

It does not appear that there is any injury report in the case diary.

It also appears that a settlement and compromise has been arrived at between the private parties regarding the disputes that had led to the initiation of the impugned proceeding. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the impugned proceeding being CGR Case No. 2848 of 2024 arising out of Ballygunge Police Station Case No. 154 dated 17.10.2024 is

quashed on the ground of compromise.

CRAN 1 of 2025 is disposed of accordingly.
