It is submitted by the petitioner that the earlier request made to the distribution company does not survive.

Mr. Nayak, learned advocate for the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, contends that the supply line is in a disconnected condition because the petitioner had committed theft of electricity. He did not pay the entire finally assessed amount. A sum of around Rs.1.38 lakhs along with late payment surcharge, is due.

Under such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of without any orders. The petitioner may negotiate with the distribution company with regard to the fate of such connection, and under what conditions the same can be restored in accordance with law.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of server copy of this order.
