It appears from the report that the accused Manju Chowdhury surrendered before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 20th Court presently redesignated as Judicial Magistrate, 20th Court, Calcutta on 6th May, 2024 and warrant of arrest was recalled.

Since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of CS/20034/19 pending before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 20th Court, Calcutta present redesignated as learned Judicial Magistrate, 20th Court, Calcutta, the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.

This Court is informed that witness action has commenced and cross-examination of the complainant is yet to commence.

In view of the above, the revisional application being CRR 1309 of 2024 is disposed of directing the learned trial Court to dispose of the case being CS/20034/19 pending before him as expeditiously as possible, preferably within one year from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.
