The writ petitioner is aggrieved by nonconsideration of her representation dated 22nd February, 2022 addressed to the Superintendent, Central Correctional Home, Berhampore, Murshidabad.

The writ petitioner's grievance is that her husband, namely, Aminul Haque, in custody pending trial under Sections 21(c)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, is seriously unwell.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that documents in respect of various ailments of her husband have been asked for the said representation but no steps have been taken as yet. The writ petitioner needs such documents to obtain an independent medical opinion.

Mr. Datta, learned Counsel appearing for the State produces the medical documents of the petitioner's husband and hands the same over to the Counsel for the petitioner to enable her to take steps in accordance with law.

Given the poor health condition of the said Aminul Haque, in the event of any appropriate representation or suggestion of treatment supported by appropriate documents is made by the petitioner, the Superintendent, Central Correctional Home, Berhampore, Murshidabad may take suitable steps thereon in accordance with law expeditiously. With the above observations, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to cots.
