Mr. Saibal Kumar Acharya, Mr. Sukhendu Bikash Mukherjee ... for the Petitioner Mr. Sirsanya Bandopadhyay, Mr. Debopriyo Karan ... for the State Petitioner applied for licence in terms of vacancy notification issued by SCFS Jhalda vide Vacancy Notification No. ID202200239103 dated 31st May, 2024.

Petitioner submitted online application on 11th September, 2024. Thereafter, proposed shop cum godown was inspected. He was asked for personal interview by the District Level Fair Price Shop Selection Committee; since then the authority concerned has not taken any steps for fill up the vacancy. He submitted a representation on February 25, 2025, his representation was not considered. Hence this writ.

Learned counsel for the State respondent submits that the selection process is yet to be

concluded and the authority concerned shall conclude the selection process according to law. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and also considered the fact that the vacancy notification was issued on 31st May, 2024, the authority concerned has complied with all formalities regarding inspection of proposed shop cum godown of applicants and also it appears that the applicants were called for personal interview by the concerned District Level Fair Price Shop Selection Committee. However no result has yet been published.

I think it necessary to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the Sub Divisional Controller, Food and Supplied being the respondent No. 5 of the instant writ petition to conclude the selection process as early as possible most preferably within six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

I make it clear that Court is not entered into the merit of this matter. The respondent authority shall conclude the selection process according to law and the result of the said selection process has to be published to the portal as well as shall be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.

Under the above observations this writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, duly applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all usual requisite formalities. (Subhendu Samanta, J.)
