Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

By presenting this writ petition, inter alia, petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authorities for deputing police personnel in order to provide protection to the petitioner since petitioner is a candidate of a particular political party and contesting ensuing Assembly Election. 3.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 20th April, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Jibantala Police Station, Baruipur Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 20th April, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 20th April, 2026 that a security personnel has been deployed with effect from 17th April, 2026 to provide protection to the petitioner.

In addition thereto, there is joint deployment of

local police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at the area where petitioner resides. 6.

In view of disclosure of aforesaid facts, present writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the concerned police authorities to provide necessary protection to the petitioner, if occasion so arises.

Deployment of security personnel for providing protection to the petitioner shall continue till 4th May, 2025.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
