The allegation is against the Officer-in-Charge, Chandrakona Police Station. The petitioner's specific case is that although Chandrakona Police Station Case No.24 of 2018 dated January 19, 2018 under Sections 461 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code was initiated on the complaint of an alleged theft in the Kali temple of the petitioner, no progress has been made in the investigation.

It is contended that even an inspection of the place of occurrence was not made by the police authorities. The Officer-in-Charge, Chandrakona Police Station had filed a report before this Court on August 28, 2019, from which it appears that the investigation was under progress. The petitioner further alleges that the investigation has practically yielded no result and no headway has been made so far.

The Officer-in-Charge, Chandrakona Police Station is directed to ensure that the investigation is concluded in

accordance with law and in a free, fair, impartial and independent manner within a period of three months from the date of communication of this order, if not already done in the meantime.

The order is being passed as this Court is unable to verify the exact position of the investigation.

The Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur shall ensure compliance of this order.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
