Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the police filed charge-sheet and, therefore, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required. Some of the co-accuseds were enlarged on anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that three of the co-accuseds who were standing on the same footing as that of the petitioner were not granted anticipatory bail. The police case is of January 19, 2021. The charge-sheet was submitted on April 14, 2021. There is no explanation as to why the petitioner did not approach the Court earlier. Considering the long absconsion of the petitioner and considering the materials in the case diary and considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The application for anticipatory bail, being CRM (A) 2021 of 2022, is rejected.
