Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the husband of the petitioner no. 1 died a few years ago. The petitioners are the mother and the son. They do not have their own house. The petitioners' condition has worsened and the whole family has been residing in a Kacha

House, which is in the dilapidated state. He made an application before the Chairman of the Panskura Municipality on 6th February, 2023 seeking enlistment under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Learned counsel appearing for the Municipality submits that if an application has already been made in this regard, the same would be considered in accordance with law.

It appears that the petitioners had made an application in this regard before the Chairman of the Panskura Municipality on 6th February, 2023. It also appears that the application has not been decided and/or disposed of yet.

I heard the learned counsel for the State.

Considering the above and in the interest of justice, the Chairman of the concerned Municipality is directed to consider the petitioners' representation in accordance with law after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. With the aforesaid observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
