Sengupta ...for the University 11-04-2023 AKG Ct. 238 It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that they have been admitted to Dainhat Joy Matara PTTI College, respondent no. 6 for the first semester of the two year B.Ed. Course under Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, respondent no. 3.
The petitioners submit that they have been admitted to the college through offline mode. They have also deposited the requisite fees as per the requirement of the college. They are currently continuing with their studies at the said college. The university, however, has declined to register them and allow them to sit for the first semester examination.
It has been submitted by the university that the petitioners were not admitted through the centralized online mode of the university within the prescribed time
limit.
The college, however, proposed to pay a sum of Rs. 10 lakh to the university to regularise the admission of the petitioners to the university.
The university has accepted the said proposal subject to the following conditions :-
1. The teacher-in-charge/principal of the college along with the petitioners shall meet with the Registrar of the University and deposit a Demand Draft of Rs. 10 lakh in favour of the university by 12 noon on April 12, 2023;
2. Additionally, the college will pay the admission and registration fees of the petitioners within the same timeframe;
3. The university shall verify the educational testimonials and other credentials of the petitioners. If it is found that the petitioners are otherwise eligible, the university shall allow the petitioners to sit in the examination scheduled to commence on April 17, 2023, after registering their names in the university;
4. The university has acceded to the proposal of the college as a special case and no similar claim shall be entertained in the future by the university; and
5. Acceptance of this proposal shall not create any
precedence.
In view of the aforesaid stand taken by the university and the petitioners, nothing remains to be decided in this writ petition. Accordingly, on the above terms and conditions, this writ petition being WPA 8297 of 2023 is disposed of.
The allegations made in this writ petition are not admitted by the university.
