Writ petition is directed against an order dated October 4, 2024 passed by the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal in M.A. 880 of 2024 (O.A. 2068 of 2022) (LRTT) 2.

Learned Tribunal passed an order dated July 20, 2023 requiring the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer to dispose of the

remand proceeding being No.3 of 2023 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of such order. 3.

Order dated July 20, 2023 passed by the learned Tribunal was communicated to the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer. Apparently, the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer did not take any steps thereon. Consequently, writ petitioners preferred a contempt petition being M.A. 880 of 2024 before the learned Tribunal complaining of violation of the order dated July 20, 2023. 4.

Such contempt petition was disposed of by the impugned order on the ground that, the writ petitioners failed to serve the copy of the order upon the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer. 5.

Materials on record suggest otherwise.

Be that as it may, Court is informed that, the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer issued a notice dated April 30, 2025 fixing May 16, 2025 to dispose of the remand proceeding being No.3 of 2023. 7.

Concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer will, therefore, proceed to dispose of the remand proceeding being No.3 of 2023 within a period of six months from today.

In such circumstances, the impugned order dated October 4, 2024 is set aside. The concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer will dispose of the remand proceeding being No.3 of 2023 within a period of six months from date.

Learned Advocate for the State will communicate this order to the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer for compliance. 10.

WPLRT 53 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs. (Debangsu Basak, J.)
