1. By way of this public interest litigation the petitioner alleges that a water body has been illegally filled up.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the State has produced the order passed by the District Land and Land Reforms Officer, South 24-Parganas dated 16.12.2022 which shows that the classification of land as on date is Bastu.

3. Therefore, a Writ of Mandamus sought for cannot be issued.

4. It is, however, open to the petitioner to challenge the re-classification of the land, if so advised.

5. With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
