The petitioner applied for new connection.

Learned advocate for the CESC Ltd. instructs the court that on inspection it was found that the petitioner was already enjoying connection from the respondent no.4. It is contended that the attempt of the petitioner to now pray for a separate meter means that the petitioner wants to split up the load and this is not permissible as per the regulations.

Under such circumstances the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the competent authority of the CESC Ltd. to intimate the petitioner the reasons as to why the application for new connection cannot be processed.

It is made clear that before such communication is made, an inspection in presence of the petitioner and other interested parties shall be held by the CESC Ltd.

reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of server copy of this order.
