Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody for more than 2 years and 9 months and there has been no progress of the case. On the other hand, learned Advocate for the State has submitted a report which reflects that final arguments of the case have already commenced since 7th November, 2025. Records reflect that time was prayed on behalf of the accused persons on 07.11.2025, 18.12.2025, 14.01.2026.

Having considered that in the month of February there was some compulsion on behalf of the learned Court, further dates have been fixed on 24.04.2026.

Having regard to the same, I direct the learned Trial Court to complete the arguments within 15 days from 24th April, 2026 without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties. Learned Trial Court after completion of the arguments would, within a period of 30 days pronounce the verdict of the case, if the defence do not tender any witness to rebut his prosecution case.

Having regard to the advanced stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 677 of 2026 is dismissed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
