The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has not filed any affidavit regarding the additional compensation as directed by the order dated 9th May, 2024.

The State is not responded and hence, the present status of the ongoing investigation and the reports directed to be placed at the time of hearing, could not take place. 3.

The learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner has submitted that the charge-sheet has been filed against few persons. But the main culprits have been purposely left out. The learned Counsel has referred to the copies of the charge-sheet filed in the pending criminal proceeding.

A copy of the report filed earlier by the KMC has been handed over to Mr. Supratim Dhar, learned Senior

Counsel appearing for the Councilor.

The learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the State and the KMC are directed to serve affidavits and/or pleadings and/or documents filed and/or relied upon by them, to the respondent nos. 6 and 7 within two weeks from date.

The KMC shall file an affidavit regarding additional compensation within the aforesaid period.

The State is directed to file a comprehensive report with regard to the progress made in the criminal investigation and if departmentally inquiries have been initiated against any erring officers of the KMC for allowing an unauthorized construction to take place that had resulted a complete collapse and death of a large number of persons.

The matter stands adjourned for four weeks.

This order shall immediately be communicated to the office of the learned Advocate General for information and doing the needful.
