The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the WBSEDCL in providing a separate electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

Pursuant to an order dated 30 April 2026, it is submitted on behalf of the WBSEDCL that there are civil disputes by and between the petitioner and the private respondents which ought to be adjudicated by the concerned District Magistrate having jurisdiction.

There is also a question of installation of an electricity pole on land which admittedly does not belong to the petitioner.

In view of the above, WPA 8797 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the concerned District Magistrate having jurisdiction to decide the grievance of the petitioner as to whether it is feasible or practical to install a separate connection at the subject premises.

It is needless to mention that in carrying out the above exercise, the District Magistrate is directed to give notice to the petitioner, private respondents as well as the WBSEDCL. The above exercise is to be completed within eight weeks from the date of passing of this order.
