1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The request of the petitioner to release the balance payment in respect of the work completed is pending consideration for a considerable period of time.

3. None represents the respondents. In the absence of the respondents the Court is not in a position to decide the issue conclusively.

4. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Birbhum being the respondent no. 5 herein to take into consideration the representation filed on behalf of the petitioner in accordance with law and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after giving a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner to place relevant documents in support of his claim.

5. Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

6. If any amount is found due and payable, then the same shall be disbursed in favour of the petitioner without any further delay subject to compliance of all necessary formalities.

7. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the legal representation dated 24th January, 2024 along with all supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of this Court.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
