AB/S DE W.P.A. (P) 118 of 2021 Sankar Halder & Others Vs Union of India & Others (Through Video Conference) Mr. Dipayan Chowdhury, Advocate, ...for the Election Commission of India present on virtual mode.

The present petition was filed in this Court on April 9, 2021, when the Assembly Election in this State was in progress. The following reliefs have been sought for in this writ petition :

"(a) A writ of and or in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondent authorities, its men, agents and sub-ordinates to take appropriate step by restraining all political parties to conduct any meeting, rally by gathering large number of people for the purpose of campaign in the ensuing Assembly Election in West Bengal 2021.

(b) A writ of and or in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondent authorities, its men, agents and sub-ordinates to frame guide line immediately for avoiding heavy gathering for the purpose of election campaign to all the political parties in West Bengal.

(c) A writ of Certiorari directing the respondent authorities to produce all records

(2) W.P.A. (P) 118 of 2021 pertaining to the instant case so that the conscionable justice may be administered."

Now, the process of election is over. Even the result has been declared. Hence, nothing survives for consideration in this writ petition at this stage. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed as infructuous.
