1. The instant Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is filed at the behest of the petitioner raising a serious issue relating to embezzlement of Government Exchequer and initiation of proceeding against the Officers responsible therefor.

2. Several directions were passed in the instant PIL upon the respondents to take steps in this regard. On the last occasion i.e. on 16.01.2024, learned Counsel appearing for the Government was directed to disclose as to whether any proceeding has been initiated against the person responsible for such offence but the learned Counsel for the State could not apprise the Court as he was newly appointed in the instant PIL.

3. Today when the matter is listed, learned Counsel for the State submits that pursuant to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the District Magistrate, the investigation was, in fact, set in motion and culminated into filing of charge-sheet before the jurisdictional Court.

4. Learned Counsel for the State is directed to hand over the copy of the said report to the learned Advocate-on-record of the appellant in course of this day.

5. Since the grievance raised in the instant PIL has been addressed and charge-sheet has already been submitted upon completion of the investigation, no further order is required to be passed in the instant PIL.

6. In view of the above, the instant Public Interest Litigation being WPA 7388 of 2019 is disposed of.

7. Let the communication dated 17.01.2023 filed by the learned Counsel for the State be kept with the record.
