Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that there was a fight between two groups of villagers. Two persons received injuries, but none of those was grievous in nature. Three persons have been granted anticipatory bail by the Sessions Court.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. She refers to the injury reports of two victims. One had to remain admitted in hospital for some time. She suffered deep cut injury on the scalp, among other things. She also refers to the statement of the injured victim. Considering the nature of injuries inflicted on vital part of the body and in view of the role ascribed to the present

petitioners, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
