(Via Video Conference) Mr. Amit Nath ...............for the petitioners Ms. Jeenia Rudra .........for the respondent Mr. Amitesh Banerjee .............for the State Mr. Amitesh Banerjee appears for the State and submits that pursuant to an earlier direction dated 28.09.2020, the State authorities have filed a report. It has also submitted that pursuant to the said direction, the police authorities had taken the petitioner back to his premises.

In view of the steps taken by the State authorities, no useful purpose would be served in keeping this writ petition alive.

WPA 6307 of 2020 is disposed of. The connected application, being CAN 4800 of 2020, stands automatically disposed of.

The petitioners are granted liberty to take appropriate steps in accordance with law in case any fresh cause of action arises.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition is called for, allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied.
