Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Mr. Chattopadhay, learned advocate representing the petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the police authorities in taking steps on receipt of complaint from the petitioner. Prayer is made in this writ petition directing the concerned police authorities to take steps in accordance with law. 3.

Mr. Mitra, learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 16th April, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Sagardighi Police Station, Jangipur Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 16th April, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 16th April, 2026 that on receipt of fresh complaint from the petitioner a criminal prosecution being Sagardighi PS Case No. 200/26 dated 15th April, 2026 was initiated under certain provisions of BNS 2023.

In view of initiation of criminal prosecution by registering FIR, no further order need be passed on this writ petition except direction upon the concerned police authorities to expedite investigation and submit report before the jurisdictional Magistrate.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
