Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept with the record.

In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the State-respondents.

The petitioner was an approved librarian of a library under the Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, on attaining the age of superannuation, he had retired from his said service on March 31, 2018. The Pension Payment Order of the petitioner was issued on December 06, 2018, in pursuance whereof, he had received the gratuity and the arrear pension on December 19, 2018.

The petitioner is praying interest on the arrear pension and gratuity for the delayed payment.

The pension and gratuity have been paid to the petitioner within a reasonable time after retirement, therefore, the prayer of the petitioner

for interest on the said pension and gratuity amount cannot be entertained.

W.P.A 8523 of 2025 stands disposed of with the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
