The revisional application is directed against an order dated March 11, 2025 passed by the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sealdah, South 24-Parganas in connection with Narkeldanga Police Station Case No. 349 of 2023 dated September 21, 2023.

By the impugned order, learned Judge refused to return the keys of the godown which was seized by the police while conducting a raid.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits a report which be taken on record.

In relation to the police case under consideration, police conducted a raid. Various articles were seized. The keys of the godown werealso seized by the police.

Report of the police submitted in Court today states that the investigations are nearing completion and charge sheet is likely to be filed soon.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the godown is required for his business. Keeping the keys of the godown with the police will be inimical to the interest of the petitioner so far as his business is concerned.

The nature of the case is such that the godown need not be kept under lock and key for the entirety of the trial. 8.

Seized articles are otherwise with the police authorities. 9.

Therefore, requirement to keep the keys of the godown with the police no longer subsists.

In such circumstances, the impugned order is set aside. 11.

The police are directed to make over the keys of the godown to the petitioner forthwith.

C.R.R. 1670 of 2025 is disposed of accordingly. (Debangsu Basak, J.) S.D.
