1. The petitioners claimed to have worked as daily labourers under a scheme known as West Bengal Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 2006. The grievance of the petitioners is that though they have performed their work as daily labourers under the said scheme, they have not been paid their wages for a considerable period.

2. Representations were submitted before the various authorities viz., the Block Development Officer and the District Magistrate, Murshidabad but no decision appears to have been communicated to the petitioners till date by such authorities.

3. In view thereof, W.P.A. 6492 of 2009 is disposed of by directing the District Magistrate and District Programme Coordinator being the 4th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 9th February, 2009, which has been annexed at page-84 of the writ petition and to dispose of the same by passing

a reasoned order after giving an opportunity of hearing to authorised representative of the petitioners and communicate the reasoned order to the petitioners immediately thereafter.

4. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation dated 9th February, 2009, which is appearing at page 84 of the writ petition.

5. There shall be, however, no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties expeditiously upon usual formalities.
