Heard the parties.

The grievance of the petitioner is directed against restoration of his electricity connection. It is alleged on behalf of the respondent Distribution Company that the petitioner is running an industrial unit and his electricity connection has been disconnected without authority of law.

The petitioner also complains of that he has received no proper notice before the impugned actions have been taken by the respondent Distribution Company.

The respondent Distribution Company is represented and submits that there are outstanding due of approximately Rs.9 lakhs is payable by the petitioner.

It is further submitted by the respondent Distribution Company that the petitioner had full and

proper knowledge of the proceedings initiated by the respondent Distribution Company.

I have considered the submissions of the parties. I find that the petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy and there are no exceptional reasons as to why this petition ought to be entertained.

Accordingly, I am of the view that the petitioner should avail of the statutory remedy in accordance with law.

Hence, WPA 9608 of 2021 is dismissed as not maintainable.

The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the statutory fora, if so advised in accordance with law. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
