Anwar Hoosain Ms. Ayantika Ray ... for the State This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge sheet was submitted under Sections 406, 498A and 506 of the Penal Code and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Let a copy of the revisional application be served upon Md. Anwar Hossain and Ms. Ayantika Roy, learned counsels, who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. They are requested to appear in this matter. Their engagement may be regularised by the competent authority of the State in due course. Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The F.I.R. lodged in 2018. A charge sheet was submitted in 2020. Yet, charges were not framed. This prompted the petitioner to approach this Court with an application for expeditious disposal. By an order dated 01.12.2021 passed in C.R.R. 2288 of 2021, this Court directed an expeditious disposal of a proceeding by preponing the next date the date in the month of February 2022 and by deciding the question of framing of charge at the earliest. Although the said order was complied with and charges were framed in the month of April 2022, the next date is fixed for evidence in the month of June, 2022.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that no inordinate delay has been occasioned in this case after framing of charge in compliance with this Court's order. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels for the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that the order passed by this Court has been complied with so far as the question of framing of charges is concerned.

I do not find that after framing of charge an inordinate delay has taken place.

Accordingly, I do not find any need to pass a further direction in this regard.

However, it is expected that the learned Trial Court would dispose of the proceeding as expeditiously as possible in terms of the order dated 1.12.2021 passed earlier by this Court in CRR 2288 of 2021.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
