The petitioner appearing in person submits that an appeal under the provisions of Section 29 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was preferred in the year 2017 being Criminal Appeal No. 9 of 2017. The said appeal was initially preferred before the learned Additional District Judge, 1st Court, Serampore, Hooghly. It has been submitted that subsequently the said appeal has been transferred to the learned Additional District Judge, 2nd Court, Serampore, Hooghly and the appeal has been renumbered as Criminal Appeal No. 21 of 2021. Be that as it may, the learned District Judge, Hooghly is directed to see the correctness of the number of the appeal and direct the learned Appellate Court in seisin of the appeal arising out of Misc. Case No. 375 of 2016 to dispose of the appeal within 60 days from the next date so fixed by the learned appeal court.
Learned Registrar (Judicial Service), High Court, Calcutta is directed to communicate this order to the learned
District Judge, Hooghly who would coordinate with the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge in seisin of the appeal so that this order is effected in its true spirit. With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 1523 of 2022 is disposed of. All pending connected applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
