The petitioner seeks electric supply.

CESC and the State authorities are represented. Learned advocate for the CESC submits that, electric supply could not be provided due to resistance at the locale. They seek police protection.

A person in settled possession is entitled to electric supply. CESC Authorities are willing to provide electric supply but unable to do so due to resistance at the locale.

In such circumstances, CESC Authority is at liberty to approach the local police station for assistance. In the event, CESC Authority approaches the police authorities,

they will provided appropriate police assistance. The local police authorities will ensure that no breach of peace occurs at the locale when CESC Authority installs the meter and energizes the same at the locale. The petitioner will no doubt comply with all formalities and pay all costs, charges and expenses for the same.

It is expected that, the petitioner will be provided with electric supply within a period of fortnight from date. WPA 9688 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly without any order as to costs.
