Mr. Paul, learned counsel appears on behalf of the State-respondents.

As per the list handed over by Mr. Chakraborty, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, it appears that the petitioner No. 8 obtained 30.5 marks which was above the cut-off marks of the last selected candidate. The last selected candidate obtained 29 marks.

The petitioners' applied for the engagement to the post of civil defence volunteers, Auxiliary Fire Operators (AFO) on temporary basis. Since there are 18 vacancies as on date, the petitioner No. 8's engagement to the said post of AFO is to be considered immediately by the State-respondents within a period of not exceeding two weeks from date. The petitioner

No. 8 will be engaged to the said post subject to compliance of other formalities.

In the event, the State-respondents consider further engagements to be made then the candidature of petitioner No. 12, who obtained 28 marks will be considered by them.

With the directions aforesaid WPA 7591 of 2019 is disposed of.
