Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. Accordingly, the application being CRAN 3976 of 2020 is disposed of.

Petitioner has deposited a sum of Rs. 65,000/- against the bill raised for unmetered consumption to the tune of Rs. 1,29,078/- without prejudice to his rights and contentions. In view of the aforesaid fact and bearing in mind the nature of allegations, we are of the opinion that custodial interrogation of the petitioner may not be necessary and he may be granted anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, we direct that in the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 2,000/- with two sureties of like amount each, to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer and also subject to the conditions as laid down under section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and petitioner shall appear before the court below and pray for regular bail within four weeks from date.
