Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that initially the CESC Limited was not agreeable to give electricity connection to the petitioner, despite the petitioner having applied for a new connection, on the ground that the petitioner was not found at the premises at the time of inspection.

However, learned counsel for the CESC Limited submits, by placing reliance on an inspection report filed in court today by learned counsel, that in the latest inspection, the CESC Limited found the petitioner and has sought certain documents to be produced by the petitioner for giving the electricity connection to the petitioner.

Hence, there cannot be any further impediment in giving the electricity connection to the petitioner, who is apparently an occupier of the premise-in-question. Accordingly, WPA 9753 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to give new electricity connection to the petitioner within a fortnight from the date of compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, including the payment of requisite amounts as well as production of the necessary documents required by the CESC Limited.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
