And In Re : Mohan Patra ...... petitioner Mr. Suddhadev Adak ....for the petitioner Mr. S. G. Mukherjee, learned Public Prosecutor Ms. Faria Hossain Ms. Baisali Basu ....for the State The injured in his statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure names the petitioner as the person, who assaulted him with a bamboo stick. The injured suffered injuries resulting in seven stitches to be administered on the scalp. The injured also suffered deep cut injury.

In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 1538 of 2023 is dismissed.
