This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in Complain Case No. 1513 of 2019 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the complainant in this case. Although she filed petition of complaint in 2019, till date the proceeding could not be concluded. On as many as twelve occasions, prayers for adjournment made on behalf of the accused were allowed. At least on three occasions warrant of arrest had to be issued against the accused. Till

date even plea could not be recorded. The proceeding is pending without any fault of the present petitioner.

No prejudice will be caused to any one if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding.

It appears that an inordinate delay has been caused in this matter, especially since the same pertains to the Negotiable Instruments Act.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the learned trial Court is requested to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties and by taking stern steps to ensure attendance of the parties as also by keeping in mind the statutory stipulations as contained in the Negotiable Instruments Act for an expeditious disposal of the proceeding.

With these observations and directions, the revisional application is disposed of.
