1. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the mother-in-law of the alleged victim. The marriage between the couple took place ten years ago. Other co-accused have been arrested in this case. It is a case of suicide. The door of the room of the victim was broken open and her body was found hanging.

2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He relies on the postmortem report and the statements of witnesses.

According to the statement of a neighbour, it appears that hearing noise, they went there, broke open the door of the victim's room and found that the victim was hanging.

3. Considering the above, the other materials available in the case diary, the fact that the petitioner is a female member of the household and the fact that other co-

accused have been arrested, I do not think that custodial interrogation of the petitioner is required in this case and I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. In the event of arrest, the petitioner shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000/- each with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer and also be subject to further conditions that the petitioner shall cooperate with the investigation and shall not threaten or intimidate the witnesses.

5. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is allowed.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with requisite formalities.
