Despite service of notice, State is not represented. Mr. Santanu Kumar Mitra, learned advocate, who normally represents the State, is directed to appear on behalf of the State.

Let the appointment of Mr. Santanu Kumar Mitra, be regularised by the office of the Legal Remembrancer. The petitioner made an application for higher scale of pay on 09.02.2022. The petitioner joined the Sonarpur Vidyapith in the year 1992 in the subject of Physcial Education and Work Education Group. He already had a post graduation degree in Philosophy. The School was subsequently upgraded to Higher Secondary School on its representation that it already had a teacher i.e. the petitioner, taking classes in Philosophy. The petitioner prays for higher pay scale since he was taking more than six classes in a week in the higher secondary section. In those circumstances, the D. I. of Schools (SE), South 24 Parganas shall consider the petitioner's

representation dated 09.02.2022 in accordance with law and dispose of the same by a reasoned order within a period of three weeks from date of communication of a copy of this order. The petitioner may be heard in person by the D. I. of Schools (SE) before passing of the said order and the same be communicated to the petitioner thereof.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
