The petitioners seek a direction upon the authorities to disclose the total number of criminal pending cases against them.

Learned Junior Standing Counsel, representing the State, on instructions submits that there are in aggregate 21 criminal cases pending as against the petitioners in three different police stations. All such criminal cases are being investigated by the Directorate of Economic Offences, State of West Bengal. There is prayer for de-freezing of the account made. The investigations are yet to be completed. At this stage, question of directing de-freezing of the account which may contain proceeds of crime does not arise.

That being the position, no further interference is called for by the writ court.

WPA 9801 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly.
