Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Ms. Manasi Roy, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 4th June, 2022 and although chargesheet has been submitted by the Investigating Authorities, dates have been fixed for consideration of charges. As the petitioner is in custody for more than a year, the anxiety expressed by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is justified. It has been informed that the next date fixed for the purposes of the present case is on 6th July, 2023. Learned Magistrate is directed to take steps for supplying of copies under Section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on the next date so fixed or within a week thereafter. Learned Magistrate would, in the circumstances of the case, fix at least one

date in every 45 days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties and immediately after serving copies, steps should be taken for consideration of charges.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 1309 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is consequently disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
