The writ petitioner is aggrieved that despite a complaint lodged with the English Bazar Police Station, Malda as regards the incident of 26.03.2021, no steps have been taken. The I. C., English Bazar Police Station has given instructions dated 14.11.2022 to State advocate, which is taken on record.

It appears that FIR No. 630 of 2022 dated 22.04.2022 has been registered.

This Court notes that the FIR has been registered with the delay of one month. The delay is unexplained.

The S. P., Malda shall look into the reasons for the delay in registration of the FIR in the instant case and take necessary steps.

The S. P., Malda shall also look into the fact as to why the investigation and the FIR have not been completed despite a lapse of about six months.

It is ordered that the investigation and the FIR be completed within a period of 45 days from date. Let a copy of this order be communicated to the S. P., Malda.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
