Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept with the record.

In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the Staterespondents. The petitioner was a Junior Library Attendant of the Library under the Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, on attaining the age of superannuation, he had retired from his said service on May 31, 2019. The Pension Payment Order of the petitioner was issued on October 24, 2019, in pursuance whereof, he had received the gratuity and the arrear pension on November 11, 2019. The petitioner is praying interest on the arrear pension and gratuity for the delayed payment.

The pension and gratuity have been paid to the petitioner within a reasonable time after retirement, therefore, the prayer of the petitioner for interest on the said pension and gratuity amount cannot be entertained.

WPA 8892 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
