1. Petitioner appears in person in Court and files Affidavit of Service, which is taken on record.

2. Petitioner has prayed for various reliefs in this Public Interest Litigation. Mainly, it is prayed for that Electoral Rolls published and finalized as on 01.01.2025, shall form basis of ensuing Assembly Elections in the State of West Bengal due to be held on 23rd and 29th April, 2026. On more than one occasion, the Court enquired that in Writ Petition(s) (Civil) No(s).1089/2025 (Mostari Banu Vs. The Election Commission of India & Ors.), the Hon'ble Supreme Court has passed various orders and pursuant to which, the Electoral

Rolls have been published.

In this background, how roll of 01.01.2025 can be treated as basis for election, no response is forthcoming.

3. Putting it differently, it was enquired that when Hon'ble Supreme Court has passed interim orders in Mostari Banu (supra) and made it clear about the validity of subsequent Electoral Rolls published by E.C.I., how a cut of date of 01.01.2025 can be entertained?

Sadly, no answer is forthcoming. In our opinion, no such prayer can be entertained, more so, in a Public Interest Litigation. The PIL is devoid of any substance and is accordingly dismissed.

4. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
