Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept with the record.

In spite of service, none appears on behalf of the Staterespondents. The husband of the petitioner was a Librarian of the Library under the Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, who died-in-harness on December 10, 2017. The Pension Payment Order of the employee concerned was issued on July 13, 2018, in pursuance whereof, petitioner had received the gratuity and the arrear family pension on August 03, 2018.

In the instant writ petition the prayer of the petitioner is a writ of mandamus be issued commanding the respondents to pay interest on the said amount of gratuity and arrear family pension for the delayed payment of it.

The pension and gratuity have been paid to the petitioner within a reasonable time after retirement, therefore, the prayer of the petitioner for interest on the said pension and gratuity amount cannot be entertained.

WPA 8802 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
