The grievance of the petitioner is that the Asansol Municipal Corporation was not taking steps to act pursuant to the order dated March 12, 2020 in WP No. 23405(W) of 2019 passed by a coordinate Bench of this Court.
A copy of the order sheet dated March 12, 2020 has been annexed to the writ petition.
Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that as the Corporation was represented on the said date, accordingly, the Corporation has the knowledge of the order passed by the Court and it was the bounden duty of the Corporation to act in accordance with the same.
None appears on behalf of the Asansol Municipal Corporation despite service.
Mr. Santanu Chatterjee, learned advocate who represented the Asansol Municipal Corporation in the earlier writ petition is present in Court today. He is requested to enter appearance on behalf of the Asansol Municipal Corporation. The Corporation is directed to regularize his engagement.
As it appears that the grievance of the petitioner is with regard to the non-compliance of the direction passed by this Court on March 12, 2022, accordingly, on the prayer of the learned advocate representing the Corporation, this Court extends the time to comply the said order.
The Corporation is directed to take steps in the matter in accordance with the order dated 12th March, 2022 at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record.
Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
