Ms. Shreyashi Biswas, learned Advocate, who generally appears on behalf of the State, is requested to appear on behalf of the State. Let her appointment be regularised in the meantime. The petitioner has filed this revisional application challenging the order dated March 23, 2017 passed by the learned Executive Magistrate, Sadar, Hooghly in M.P. Case No. 262 of 2017 under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code. As per Section 144(4) of the Criminal Procedure Code no order under this Section shall remain in force for more than 2 months from making thereof. Needless to mention the order has been passed on March 23, 2017, so two months as per statute has already elapsed long ago.

Accordingly, the impugned order under challenge has lost its force by efflux of time. This revisional application has thus become infructuous.

In the light of the above observation, the instant revisional application is accordingly disposed of.

Connected applications, if any, also stand disposed of. Interim order, if there be any, stands vacated. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, on priority basis, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
