Matter is heard in presence of learned advocates representing the petitioner, State respondents and Election Commission of India.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 25th April, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge of Parnashree Police Station, Kolkata and same is taken on record. Copy of said communication is made over to learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in said communication that after the complaint was signed by the petitioner on attending Police Station same was registered as FIR and criminal prosecution being Parnashree Police Station Case No. 199 dated 13th April, 2026 was initiated under certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

In view of steps taken by the police authority, at this stage no further order need be passed on this writ petition.

However, concerned police authority is directed to expedite the investigation and submit charge-sheet before the jurisdictional Magistrate.

Petitioner is granted liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate, if occasion so arises. 7.

Writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
