1. Heard learned lawyers for the parties.

2. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of eyewitnesses recorded under section 164 Cr.P.C disclose role of the petitioner in the crime. He does not stand on the same footing with co-accused Swades Mondal who is not named by the said eye-witnesses. Offence if proved, would attract mandatory life imprisonment.

3. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
